John Parilla
Athletic Alumni Hall of Fame
John Parilla graduated from Chaminade High School in 1971, where he was a multi-sport athlete, excelling in football, basketball, and baseball. He was an All-County athlete in basketball and an All-State athlete in football. John was a key member of the Lions football team, contributing to district championship victories every year from 1968 through 1971. In addition to his athletic achievements, he was an active member of the Key Club and the National Honor Society.
After high school, John attended the Admiral Farragut Naval Academy in New Jersey but soon realized the Navy wasn't the path for him. He returned to Florida and walked on to the University of Florida football team. At UF, John pursued a degree in Business Administration and Finance. During his time there, he met his wife, Susan Ives Parilla.
John went on to build a successful career, spending over 30 years with Rexel, a leading electrical distribution company. He and his wife have raised four children—two sons and two daughters—and are proud grandparents of nine, with one more on the way. John currently resides in Coral Springs, Florida, where he continues to be a devoted family man and a proud member of the Chaminade-Madonna community.
