Nick graduated from Chaminade-Madonna in 2001 and was a standout basketball player during his time at CMCP. He was named Second Team All Broward County as a junior and First Team All Broward County as a senior. His senior year he was named Broward County 3A-1A Boys Basketball Player of the Year. He was also an All State Team Honorable Mention his senior year. 

Nick went on to further his basketball career at Barry University. While at Barry University, he achieved the following: Sunshine State All Conference First team, Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year, Barry University Male Athlete of the Year, NCAA Division 2 Second Team All American, and NCAA Division 2 All South Region First Team. Nick is also a member of the Barry University Athletics Hall of Fame.

Nick played professional basketball in the British Basketball League for the Newcastle Eagles and in the German Bundesliga for the Monchengladbach Lions.
