Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame

Vincent Newman is an Agriculture Instructor at McArthur High School. He is in his seventh year at McArthur. His agriculture program, in partnership with the FNGLA (Florida Nursery Growers Landscape Association), has certified more students than any other secondary school in the State of Florida. Since becoming a teacher with Broward County Public Schools, Mr. Newman joined and has been an active member of the Broward Teachers Union. He has been appointed to lead the Code of Conduct Committee and is currently a member of the Calendar Committee.


Mr. Newman holds an Associate Arts degree in Business Administration from Miami-Dade College, an Associate of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Broward College, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration and a Master of Science degree in Program Administration from St. Thomas University. He is ABD in a PhD in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from Nova Southeastern University.


He has been married for 33 years to his wife Imelda Newman. They have 2 children, Victoria and Vincent. Victoria is will finish law school at Nova Southeastern University in May 2019 and Vincent is completing his medical school residency in Buffalo, NY in June 2019.
