Ron Cannella is a City of Hollywood native.  In his Junior and Senior years, he won District Champion for Wrestling both times at 152 lbs. In his senior year, Ron won 1A Florida High School State Championship at 152 lb weight class, won the Wrestling Region 4 Championship, and was named to the 1st Team All-County. 

After graduation, Ron wrestled collegiately at University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky from 2001 to 2005. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. 

Ron came back to Hollywood and was hired by the Hollywood Police Department in 2006. At the Hollywood Police Department, he has been Officer of the Month four times between 2006 and 2009. He was awarded Officer of the Year in 2021. And he was promoted to Sergeant in 2016.
